... if you don't want it to be.

Sure, I could see why it would be hard and nerve wracking to tell your parents, I get it. But for friends, not really. You shouldn't have to be afraid about that. If you are, then you may have the wrong friends.

Just yesterday I "came out" if that's what you want to call it ... to a friend I only knew for a month and everything's fine. And it SHOULD be fine.

I'd like to think we're making progress here people

It doesn't have to be a big deal, you're right, but you know how society can be cruel sometimes. If your friend accepted you, than he is really a good friend. Hope everything works out for you.

Congrats!
For some people although they are 'friends', it may scare them so much and they may start thinking every time we are with them we are thinking of surf and turf and whatnot. It isn't like that, and you are right sometimes is a lot harder than it should be.

Congrats for coming out to them. Yes I do think there's progress, I know it was certainly a lot easier for me than it was for my gay uncle.

Thanks, but I don't want to be "congratulated" ... I didn't even really do anything. I really don't want this to be seen as a huge thing.

I respect you for the way you think and I agree with what you are saying. I am not saying congratulations for coming out to someone, I am saying congratulations on your mindset. I like to think that we are making progress too.
