I've been on a fitness kick as of recently. I'm always active, but I usually do simple cardio. Lately I've been half jogging/half walking ten miles on my walking trail then switching it to five miles the next day then back to ten and so on. But I've also included an every other day toning regimen for my abs, arms and legs. I used to do P90x conditioning with my old sports team and I never felt this sore. My stomach muscles and legs (especially thighs) are extremely sore and I was wondering how to lessen it? Any tips or advice?

I just mean the day after soreness that follows. :P Mine's everlasting, it seems. I think I even grunt every time I walk now because my legs are so sore.

I had a weird dream just now. I dreamed that you said you jogged ten miles on an every-other-day basis. TEN. MILES. For our metric friends, that's SIXTEEN point zero nine three four four KILOMETERS. The following is my reaction to that:

I don't actually have any contributable advice for this thread, I just thought that was some crazy high mileage.

Half jogged HALF WALKED, KNOB. XD I probably wouldn't do that much except I'm sort of forced to. The trail I walk on only has one parking area, at the very beginning. Meaning when I get to the end I have to come all the way back. To get to the end once is 2.5 miles, plus back equals 5. :P Every other day I do two laps down and back both walking and jogging. I see people full-fledged running while I cruise and head dance to music, so to them I'm a snail. It's easy once your body gets used to it. My muscles just haven't.

From what I know, there isn't any sure-fire way of getting rid of/significantly reducing soreness. Every person is different, I'd suggest just trying a variety of relaxing things and seeing if any of them relieve some of the soreness. Definitely make sure you're stretching before and after. And try some shings like - baths, warm showers, ice - packs, heat pads, etc. And see if any of those help.

Ice baths. It honestly works. I do it after every practice.

Maybe stop exercising for a day or so :/
Also a good diet, stretching before during and after workouts, and warm up / cool down exercises to prevent lactic acid build up in your muscles.

Try to get an hour of cardio every day, but do anaerobic exercise like lifting weights every other day.

Haha me. Giving exercise advice when I'm fat and lazy and dumb. :/

Either eat more or rest more (or both). If you're constantly sore you're overtraining.
With a high enough surplus of calories and enough rest this shouldn't be happening to the point where it is debilitating.
