im 14 and my mother always made me wear a water t-shirt when we went to swim to protect me of sun burns. now that I'm growing up, i feel awkward being without a t-shirt, also awkward because of the hair in my armpit. what should i do?

Hmmm your mother has also armpit hair but she shaves it :-)
In fact if you don't put your arms up, people won't see it.
PD: No te averguences, todos los adultos tienen los mismos pelos.

I used to feel awkward about my armpit hair but then I just got on with it and didn't really think about putting my arms up, although I know I have a lot more than lots of people my age

I used to feel really awkward when I first got it but now I have a happy trail too and there's definitely no hiding that when I'm swimming. The best thing is just to get it out there and it will be awkward at first but from then on they'll know it's there and won't care.

If your issue is about wearing a tee shirt, then I would not worry about it especially if where you're from wearing a tee shirt while swimming is normal and is needed because of sunburn problems.
As for hair, I think most of us were really embarrassed when we first got it. It gets weird one day looking like a kid and the next still having a kid's body with some adult features like hair. It feels weird for the first year having things like hair, but anyone who does not live under a rock knows that boys will get hair and develop. It can feel weird having adult like things on your body, but you'll get used to it really quickly. Also, if anyone makes comments, then it's just because they're probably used to your being small and looking like a child and are probably surprised to see you become an adult.

I kinda feel awkward too when being shirtless in public and having my armpits exposed, it's just something you have to overcome. and there is nothing wrong with wearing a shirt either, better that than hurt the skin with sunburn

It's one of those things that will be awkward at first. And the first time your parents see that you have armpit hair, they might make a little scene about it, but after that, they won't say a word. It'll just be a normal thing. You just have to do it, and move on.
