i don't know exactly how long now but for a few months i have been open about my self harm and since i stopped hiding it i have come to realize i did something good. since people know what im doing to myself i have received some bullying but i did two things good i have helped increase understanding in lots of people who have little or no understanding and i have shown others that they never know who they can get help from or who may need help. now many people i know are trying to help me stop. i suggest perhaps finding people you trust and letting them help you. just might not be the best idea to be as open as me.

Good job! In the end all of us get found out any way. Its best to come from you on your own time tho. I was found out in the er when I needed stitches. Then again a few times when I was hospitalized for unrelated physical issues and emergency's.

It was a lot easier after it was on the table. Actually it worked in my favor once when a school counselor got word of it and attempted to have me punished for it by people who already were aware and did not care about my cutting. Saved me a lot of grief that time.
