ok so here it is my school has like two people out of the closet and everyone treats em like dirt and so i have ben trying to come out but im very worried the same will appen to me but the differnce between them and i is that i have a larger group of friends and am generally a bit more popular then them but still im worried that ill lose a lot of people or something like that, what do i do?

While it's very brave for those to come out and face the bombardment of ill will from those immature morons out there, each of us must do what we can emotionally and physically handle in our own situation in deciding how "open" we need to be to the "straight" majority and when we can handle it. It might be more realistic for you to only open to those closest to you (friends, family) and know you have a support of those closest to you before "outing" yourself. There are a lot of stupid people in the world that still don't get it. Each of us must make our own decision..

I just tried to be realistic instead of putting you in some temporary useless hopes. By the way, don't you think that there's more than sexuality for a teen?

ya but i think finding a relationship while a teen is a stepping stone and its going to be harder for me to do that...

You are 17, I guess.
Can't you wait till you are 18 before making a proper decision on your sexuality? There's much more in life than deciding your sexuality now which you might regret later on in life...(it's just my opinion)

yeah i guess i could wait a bit but seeing everyone else in reltionships andstuff is kinda hard especially when prom stuff starts

It sounds like there are some real dicks at your school. It wouldn't matter the fact u are more popular they will still treat u like dirt. I would come out to ur really close friends and only them. Maybe the other people that have come out to just so they know ur there for them.
