I recently took my October SATs and i scored around 1400. I'm the kid in high school that takes AP and Honors classes, but somehow, a friend of mine who doesn't really take much of AP or H classes, got a 1700. I'm quite depressed because we're both 12th graders, he's in "Topics of Modern Math" while I'm in AP f*cking Calculus. Do SAT scores determine who I am? The education system makes it seem like it. But then again, there's people like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg.:(:(

SAT scores show how well you are at taking the SAT and how well you study.
Nothing more.

Grades are no measure of intelligence in my opinion and they never will be. Exams are nothing more than short term memory tests. Why limit yourself to a number/letter on a piece of paper? There's far more to life than that.

Really the results on an SAT test show nothing important. They're just a grade of how good you are at taking the test. Nothing more, nothing less.

Honestly, I'm the same way. The difference is I didn't really care about my test scores, as I am already way ahead of everyone GPA-wise. It's the effort you put into school, not really the test. Trust me, to talk AP Calc, you have to be smart.
EDIT: To clear confusion (About my age) I should probably say I took the SAT in 7th grade and again Freshman year (no, not PSAT, actual SATs). I did alright, but the difference is my GPA is ~5.3, whereas most kids my age can't even take full-on AP classes (AP class cap is 6.0, pre-ap/advance is 5.0, if anyone is wondering). I take 2 AP classes, 2 Advanced/Pre-AP, and 3 electives.

You can take the test as many times as you want! I only took the SAT once and I got a 1700, so I chose not to send the scores anywhere and I just opted for the ACT option instead. The ACT is way easier, I ended up with a 30 and I took it plenty of times to get there. So I would suggest you at least try the ACT at least once. If it was your first time taking the exam, don't worry, everyone always does a lot better the second time. For the ACT or SAT being important, yes they are, most every school if not all needs to see one of the two, however, your score isn't anything that will get you turned away from a school. You're taking difficult classes, I'm assuming your GPA is good, colleges don't only look at your SAT's. Relax and take it again, you'll do just fine!.
