View Full Version : Can't control myself

I am a Senior in highschool with 3 AP classes. I had a normal level science class, but got so frustrated at the pace that I asked to be put into honors chemistry. Which brings me to 3 AP classes and 2 honors. I also work in retail to get money for college.
I find that when I'm not studying, I feel guilty and anxious. Its like I'm wasting my entire life every 5 minutes I'm not doing something beneficial. Like, even right now I feel awkward not studying or doing work.
I feel like an ultimate loser whenever I get anything below a 90 percent, and I'm comparing myself to other people all the time. I'm still uncomfortable with the fact that a friend of mine graduated having been in 5 AP classes and I'm only in 3.
I took a college course over the summer, and I only got a B. It hurt a lot to see that and I haven't given the transcript to my highschool because I'm too ashamed.
Its like I'm stuck on autopilot and I can't shut it off. I joined the newspaper club because I felt like I have too much free time, and that wasn't productive enough for me.
Its like I'm trapped, and I am sacrificing a lot for it (hanging out with friends, playing games, watching TV)
I can't help but wonder if I'm doing the right thing to myself.

It usually happens to me too. It's just that I like to be at the top...
Well, certainly you need to be calm to be able to think.
You are objective which is very good.

dude calm yourself down, ap classes are not that hard or stressful if you just study pay attention in class and take about 3-4hours each day studying or that's just what I do, your friend probably stacked his classes to get 5
please keep in mind I'm a junior in high school so might have not gotten to the "harder" ap classes yet
