how to explain to parents

So, i am not really too interested in school. Not like HS, but like college. I have a plan but i don't really know if i want to go to college. or atleast not straight out of high school.

My parents have this idea that you MUST go to college right after you graduate. But i really don't want to do that.

A lot of people take a year break
between HS and college.
Some go on a Peace Corps tour
or something like that.

You should tell them straight out, "Mom, dad... Fuck college."

In all seriousness, you should sit them down and explain to them that college isn't something you see yourself doing right now. They want what's best for you and they'll probably freak out, but make sure they understand you're not going to be a complete bum and you have other plans.

College is fucking expensive. If you want to wait until you're ready, you wait and you don't pay attention to anyone that doesn't like it. They are not the ones going to college. You are. You need to be comfortable and prepared when you go, even if that means you go ten years after you graduate HS.
