How scared are you of contracting oral herpes/genital herpes? Rating 1-10, 1 being not scared, 10 being scared shitless.
I read that oral herpes is in about 80% of the population, so it's quite common. I think it only causes cold sores for the first outbreak, and becomes dormant, but may break out again due to stuff like stress. It can be transmitted to others only during breakouts. Teenagers and young adults kiss a lot, especially in high school and college. If one has an outbreak and gives oral sex, that can transmit to genital herpes. *Correct me on anything if I'm wrong.*
I think I'm about a 6. I'm kind of scared, but at the same time I understand that a lot of people have it and it seems a bit "normal."

2. I don't see myself having a relationship until adulthood. I'm much too shy in that way. I've never kissed anyone and don't know who I would. At this time in my life it any sort of STD or herpes etc seems to be a 0% chance for me. Once, my mom was warning me about how hard my life is going to be as a gay person, she said I'm going to be teased when I'm 16 and I've never kissed anyone. For some reason that really hurt me. Who says I'm not going to have kissed anyone when I'm 16? I could have my first kiss tomorrow for all I know.

4? When I do go out with someone and it does happen, then so be it. It's not really bad if I get it.

2. I have never known of anyone personally
who has had a problem like that except for the
occasional cold sore. I got shingles lest year which
is herpes zoster from stress. When I get stressed
nowadays I sort of worry that it will trigger it again
enough for me to keep my stress in check. But I am
not scared of it.

You're 99% right. I think the amount of outbreaks you have just depends on you. I've only had one outbreak downstairs, but I get cold sores every so often.
Honestly, I'm not worried at all. I plan on using contraceptives when engaging in actual penetration, highly lowering the risk of transmission.

Um not worried BC I'm not in any relationship. I doubt I ever will be. But if I was I would not do anything until they were teasted and I would of course be tested too for their piece of mind. I figure we'd both go and share our results and go from there with any nessecary precautions or what ever was needed.
So if Iwere active iI would probably b a 10 lol

1. I only plan on having sex with one person (who is Genophobic) so obviously I'm not exactly terrified that I'm going to catch an STD.
