Yesterday I woke up and the tip of my right ring finger is kind of numb, there isn't really any feeling in there. I can feel pressure but it's not right. I don't know what's wrong with it. I told my mom and she told me that I probably slept on it wrong but today it is still numb.
What is wrong with my finger :what:

Were your fingers exposed and/or cold for an extended time beforehand?

No they were not.
Did you handle any electronic device and/or get an electric shock, or did you handle anything with your hands recently that you haven't handled before?

I did get shocked last week by an outlet.
I am going to wear a wrist brace for a few days to see if it is carpel tunnel.

The electric shock might be the reason for your nerve being damaged/shut down there. Carpel tunnel syndrome it could be, good to take that precaution.
Hope it gets better!

Thank you :)
Carpal tunnel is possible, id give it around 4 days, if it doesn't heal by then tell mom again

Well a good shock can cause temporary numbness, its unlikely unless it was a real whopper. It could be pour circulation. Carpel tunnel usually causes pain, not numbness. But it's possible, its usually found in the wrist and young people rarely get it. It could be tendonitis of the finger.
If you smashed or banged the finger that could cause some lasting numbness. I had my wrists bound in a ligature once and and it caused permanent numbness to the top of my thumb. Still numb today. The pressure damaged the nerves.
Also a fracture can cause this as well. Did you do anything that could have broke your finger? I've had broken bones and numbness associated with them.
The most likely culpret would be an injury or if you had cut of circulation for a long time like a rubber band wrapped around it all day.
Give it a few days and see

I don't think it's a fracture though, wouldn't there be swelling and some discoloration?

Not always. I've broken several fingers and toes some swelled and others did not. Swelling and discoloration depend on soft tissue damage. Now you would probably remember if you banged your hand or not.
It could also be as simple as a pinched nerve.

My fingertip has returned to about 85% normal. It's not the weird numbing sensation anymore but more of a less-feeling-than-usual sensation. It's weird. Thank you guys for help :)

That's good to hear.
Maybe it was a 'pinched nerve'.

It could have been ulnar nerve compression. This usually can happen from propping your arm on a table on the area below the elbow. I've done this before.

It was a potassium deficiency!
I am on Metformin for PCOS and a side effect can be potassium and magnesium deficiencies. Those cause muscle cramps and fingertip numbness. Makes sense now :)
Need to drink some OJ.
