What are songs that just take you back in time; to a setting, or an event you heard it at, or someone you attribute a song to that you really care for or miss?

For me, my top 5 are:

1. The Scientist by Coldplay. I'm just getting through a nasty breakup and I just feel it fits so perfectly.
2. Yellow by Coldplay. Soooooo many just bad memories but also reminds me of times that I loved.
3. Politik by Coldplay. It reminds me of my ex-boyfriend, and I was playing it on my iPod in bed on the night he said he liked me a lot.
4. Honeybee by Steam Powered Giraffe. My ex showed me this song and he played it during a intense emotional cuddle session. Still can't make it all the way through this song without crying. It also reminds me of my 4th of July which I miss.
5. Wrapped in Piano Strings by Radical Face. It was the song I coped with when my parents were splitting up and I felt like my life was making a 180. I remember the solemn nights of staying up till 2:30AM on VT talking to people and playing the song. I also played it when my life started to get better and I met this amazing guy from Ohio that I still care about to this day.

Even though I don't like the song Trouble by Taylor Swift that much it still brings back good memories of a ski trip I went on with my friends last winter. It played in the car soooo many times during the 5 hour drive.

Music has a massive effect on me and I do bawl my eyes out crying to some songs.

1. How To Save A Life - The Fray. Can't listen to it without being emotionally drawn into it. I can't get to the end of the song without feeling guilty or crying. This has a personal meaning to me and I'm not going to go into it, but I know that I screwed up pretty bad years ago and someone who I love listened to this non stop.

2. Move Along - All American Rejects. I sat in my room crying my eyes out to this song when I was 15 thinking that I would be better off dead. It just reminds me of bad times, but in other ways, it does keep me stronger.

3. Still - Daughter. Reminds me of someone who I used to know and had a strong emotional connection to.

4. I Was Wrong, I'm Sorry & I Love You - Derek Webb. Just makes me very emotional.

5. You Raise Me Up - Westlife/Josh Groban/Sellah. This used to make me really upset but now every time I listen to it, it gives me happy memories and reminds me of friends. The Sellah version though, makes me cry like a bitch.

6. I'm Yours - Jason Mraz. This song me and friends would be constantly singing at school, one of us would start it and the next you knew you'd be surrounded by 5 or 6 people joining in. It's a very cheery song and it makes me happy.

7. Nicest Thing, and Birds - Kate Nash. I have so many feels with these songs, they make me smile but also make me cry depending on the day. It reminds me of this girl I used to really like.

8. Wonderwall - Oasis. I have an attachment to song, I don't even care.

9. Mine - Taylor Swift/AHMIR Cover version. I don't know okay, don't judge me.

10. I Would Die For You - Matt Walters. Listen to it yourself and tell me you don't get drawn in and then kicked in the stomach. Tell me you don't get emotional because I do.

I Miss Her - Jessie J, it's a song about one of her friends' family members having Alzheimer, and it really connects with me because my pop had dementia, and it just strikes ever chord inside of me. First song that's every made me cry.
