The Russian Federation bad as we think?

is Russia as bad as we always like to think? Soviet Union yes but Russia is is a modern county, we always try to paint them as the bad guy but really I think we are quite similar

also when ever the Russians do something bad we always paint it worse than we would if it was a Western county

so what do you think of mother Russia?

Yes it is. Britain is about 100 times better than Russia. They've gassed innocent hostages which lead to over 100 people dying. They've got terrible anti-gay laws which are not in any way similar to Britain.

You've got Putin ruling the country for the last 12 years, Christ he got something like what 99% in the last election- that seems a bit fishy doesn't it. He's targeted anyone who has spoken out against him and used the state police to murder and harass journalists. It's worse than it was under the Soviet union

Yes, it was much much worse than the Soviet Union because if has the perception of being open and Democratic when it's just as corrupt. The soviet union were honest about the levels of state control where as Putin likes to hide it. I'd rather have Lenin facing me with the dagger than Putin with it behind his back. I don't have a major issue with the Russian Federation I have an issue with Putin and his anti-gay laws which are just terrible.

Russian foreign policy isn't much better either, they've carried out multiple war crimes in Chechnya which made the US in Iraq and Afghanistan look soft. I'd feel a lot safer visiting the USSR than I would the Russian federation

Russia is a country with a lot of economic potential that is currently being taken advantage of, if they weren't so war-oriented and radical they would be doing amazingly good, I do have some respect for Russia, but I am not fully aware of everything the nation is up to.

I was talking about a female journalist who was shot and killed in 2004, I mentioned it in a previous post and you then turned it into a traitor. The government of any state doesn't have the right to shot someone for standing against putin. The state have routinely used the courts to slander and attack anyone who opposes Putin- he's got an iron grip over the country.

I was mentioning this extremely vague point you made which doesn't really make any sense at all, I mean the whole point is that you become terrible based on the actions you carry out in office. The things that putin has done has made him terrible.
