View Full Version : Double-standards, the bane of equals the fuel to judgement!

Double-standards suck!
I hate how judgemental some people are! I'm usually more conservative, I stay quiet and ignore some things that get me but double-standards get me.
From racial, to gender, it's sad!
Two girls can dance and no one cares. Two sexy girls kiss and people cheer.
Two girls hold hands but they may not even be together! Just friends!
A girl dresses as a guy we call her a tomboy, feminine or not.
But when guys do it, oh no.
Two guy friends may be straight but hold hands once and all hell may break loose.
Two guys dance together, people assume they are heartbroken, alone, or gay.
Two guys kiss, some people boo.
A guy dresses feminine, and people stare.
Double standards suck.
Let's not forgot the racial side, many places have had it, a cute white girl tries to steal something, people helped her (as seen on WWYD), a white guy tries to steal, some help, some try to have him arrested, and last, the black guy tries to steal something, and people call police immediately!
Why not call the police before on the girl?

I also hate double standards.
How about when a girl sleeps with a lot of people, some call her a slut/whore but if a guy does that he isn't called anything? In fact I think maybe his friends "congratulate" him or something?
And I don't know if it's true or not but a lot of people seem to have "issues" with girls staying single for the rest of their lives but not MEN staying single (bachelors)
Two guys together doesn't mean automatically they're both gay or whatever.
A girl can be friends with a guy without there being any romance.
List goes on. All those you listed are so true, though I don't understand why people would cheer if two girls kiss...?
It's stupid.

I wonder how all of these double-standards even happened and why so many of them are sad, but true. It's not good and history has shown that some things that are seen as odd today were the norm then. Like masculinity, has changed much. Men used to wear makeup to have clearer skin, wear heels for height, tight clothes, and wore wigs for status, even at times some men wore eyeliners and lip color for either look or again status. Now those are considered a no-no to men. Men then even took care of their body hair then in some cases. Although many women and men now dislike too much hair and many men do manscape, even that is frowned upon.

Yeah that is so true.
But don't forgot it's not just men, it's women too...(for double standards)

I I as a guy were to sleep with a lot of girls, I'd be called a player and a stud and all that.
Once a girl does it, she's considered a whore... This type of stuff really pisses me off.

Well I might be wrong in thinking they're double standards let alone true (I think they are but I'm not sure) but I'll give it a shot. Correct me if I'm totally wrong
1. If a girl sleeps around with a lot of men, she's called a slut or whore. But if a guy sleeps with a lot of girls, he doesn't get called those derogatory words
2. People (in general) seem to have issues (not sure what to call it) with girls staying single but not guys... << (okay maybe this is not true but in general I seem to see parents want their daughters to get married but don't mind too much if their sons stay bachelors or whatever) ...edit: no idea if that's a double standard, so if it isn't, you can ignore this one >_<
