Clint Eastwood vs. John Wayne

I love westerns. It's my favorite genre of movie, especially the old spaghetti westerns. Undeniably, the two biggest stars of the genre were Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. Wayne broke out early but Eastwood didn't come in until later. They had two vastly different styles and usually played different types of characters. But they were both amazing.

So, my question is: who was better in your opinion? It's tough for me to choose because I love them both, but I'm going with John Wayne. Let the discussion begin!

I will go with Clint Eastwood mainly because I have seen more of his westerns. It seems to me that Wayne's westerns were more 50's Disney like. Eastwood's westerns were more raw and edgy.
