Recently I have been having some back and shoulder pain. Nothing too severe, but my doc is currently running tests to see what may be causing the tension. (I'm going to place a bet that it's from stress but who knows). In light of this I have been trying to find some form of pain release. Advil, Ibuprofen, and other over the counter pain relievers don't do much for me. Smoking a bowl doesn't help with pain much either, as the strains I pick up are mostly sativa dominant.

So I decided to research other organic solutions to my back and shoulder pain. One of the things I came across was Kratom, a derivative of the coffee family. Kratom is a legal herb across most of the world, and only illegal in 2 US states at the moment (Indiana and Iowa). Once ingested kratom acts as an opiate, and gives similar opiate affects.

After reading up a bit on the substance I decided to acquire some. It worked great. My pain was relieved within 15-20 minutes, and the psychological stimulation was minimal, so I could still function during class and work. Though it does make you tired during the comedown, it's nothing unbearable.

Has anyone ever tried kratom for similar reasons? Did it work to relieve your pain, or did you have an adverse reaction?

*I'm not promoting the use of kratom, neither am I implying that you should acquire some and try it yourself.

I've never even heard of this. Thanks for sharing though.
