So I've been about a month or so clean from cutting, but I feel as if that clean streak might end pretty soon. I'm really, really desperate to cut and all my willpower has been diminished. My mom has noticed my behavioral change, and I've been depressed now for exactly a month. Never missing one day of depression.
My mother doesn't know I cut. She knows I get depressed and have anxiety, but doesn't take me to a psychologist. I don't want to flat out tell her that I need to go - I myself am an aspiring adolescent psychologist and she will most likely think I just want to meet someone in the field I would like to be in.
I know I have two disorders that aren't diagnosed, and possibly many more. How can I convince her to take me, without exactly saying it? I want to get help so bad, but at the same time I don't want her to know I self harm. I just want her to think I have bad depression and anxiety, and might need medication or a therapist.

Yes, a school counselor can refer you to a psychologist,
without spilling the beans to your mom.
Depression and anxiety are sufficient grounds for needing one.

I've never been to the school counselor before. I also don't know which counselor to go to, since they assign them by the first letter of your last name.
What will they do? What is this whole "referall" process, and how will I have time to attend? I don't want to go after school, they might meet my mom. Also, what will I say to the counselor, how do I address my situation?
Sorry for the bombardment of questions.

The people at guidance can call ur parents and tell them everything and tell them that u HAVE to take u to a therapist, counselor, etc...... Every one handles these situations differently so try to distract your self from those bad thoughts

I don't know about the assigning process at you school. Basically for me it's just a matter of going to the office and requesting a session. Usually I see a counselor during class time. Like I'll skip a fourth period class to sit down with him, pretty much as if I needed to go to the nurse's office. Usually sessions with a school counselor are held if confidence. The idea is for kids to have someone to be able to talk to and confide in. The counselor is supposed to abide by the patient confidentiality policy, unless you are telling him you're going to do something illegal like kill yourself that night. The counselor is used to dealing with whatever you need to talk to him/her about, so you don't have to worry about any how to on your part. They usually start out by asking you questions. If a counselor thinks you need to see a psychologist, then you will be referred to one on his list. This way it is the counselor and not you setting up time with a psychologist, rather than you having to ask your mom directly to see one. Or you can just continue to see the school counselor if you don't want to take it to that level. Nothing is expected of you personally performance wise, so you don't have to worry about how you are supposed to address your situation etc.
