Girl starts talking randomly about the girl I feel likes me. What does it mean?

I was in a group and this girl I'm friends with starts talking randomly about the girl who I feel likes me. She told me that the girl who I feel likes me is dumb/stupid when it comes to general questions. The girl who I feel likes me has shown me signs of liking me. (She was with her friends, when I entered the picture she was excited, happy and more comfortable. She seems comfortable when talking to other guys also. But when she is talking to me alone, she seems to become nervous/shy.) But i'm now confused at why the girl i'm friends with randomly started talking about her. The girl who I feel likes me is not dumb/stupid as she received an award for top 3 in a subject.

Why did she just randomly start talking about her and calling her dumb/stupid when I know she got top 3 in a subject?
Did she want to see my reaction from talking about her?
Does the girl who I feel likes me, like me back?

Either she likes you, or she's making sure that you can see the flaws in your crush. I do that too with my friends sometimes, bc I want to be sure that they know that their crush isn't perfect and that they're not fantasizing.

But my friend doesn't know at all that I feel the girl likes me or if I like her. She just randomly said it, and she talked about her. This is the second time that when i'm around, a girl has spoken about this girl. The first, a friend of mine wanted to know what girl I liked, I looked in the direction of the girl I like and without hesitation she asked if I like the girl who I feel likes me in a happy excited tone. Now this is the second time i've heard her name mentioned.

What does this all mean?
