So I've recently rewatched Carrie,
and I still can't get over what a good movie it is!
I've seen it 2 times before, and it still gets to me every time.

Sure,it seems a bit cheesy with the sound effect, and the 70's look,
but it's about the only movie I know (along with the lovely bones) that actually gives me dem feels.

Just that atmosphere, the build up, and then everything just breaks down.
Stephen Kings story does this so beautifuly, and the movie really makes you notice the whole dark and unsettling feel behind it.

I don''t know, I just can't get over it, I love that movie so much. I literlaly shiver at some scenes.

Heard of it, never watched it. I will put it on my (mental) list. Thanks for the recommendation (:

I've maybe seen that one about twice, but I've seen pretty much every version of it except for the new one. It's a bit of a staple with my mum and I. However, I can't give an opinion on it merely because I haven't seen it since a while back in my cognitive development. Pre-teen years at least.

I haven't watched the new one either. I'm afraid it will be so bad that it ruins my carrie experience lol

I have not seen it, but I am going to check it out. I love Stephen King stuff when done right. The Shining gave me that feel I think you are talking about. Kind of a dorky movie, and yet... I heard Christine was another good 70's/80's SK movie along those lines. I'll have to watch The Lovely Bones too. I love watching good horror movies in October.

Like I said, it's been a while since I've seen the first, but I saw the new one today and it looked pretty much like an updated version of the old one. I heard some stuff going around that it was going to be more like the book but a lot was the same, except special effects were better of course and then Julianne Moore whom I think was the only other highlight. I still enjoyed it, I just really couldn't see why they made the movie when it was the same movie yet probably even less powerful.

yess the shining is one of my favourite movies.
kubrik is a genius anyway, so Kubrick+King was perfect.
