So I was diagnosed with my 4th concussion last weekend, after getting hit hard in the helmet during a football game. And my symptoms are just seeming to get worse since I got it checked out. I've constantly had pounding headaches, waves of nausea, and my ears have been ringing non stop. My balance is off, and I'm becoming more light headed the more I stand up. I'm starting to get worried. I'm considering going to the doc again and seeing what we should do. Any advice?

Yeah, I would definitely go to the doctor, just to be on the safe side. But I know PCS can be pretty bad.

you really should go, its crazy hearing some of the research made by the NFL and what happens to your head, you probably should stop playing football, im really suprised your school didnt say anything, those bastards,.... in our school theyre really strict about it, we have to go to mandatory tests and everything, its crazy like you run the possibility of going brain dead!!! you should see the videos we see in school testings, ugh

Ive had some retty awful experiences with post concussion syndrome, the number one thing is to take it easy epecially whle youre still having these symptoms. It might seem drastic but if you are experiencing these symptoms without anything triggering it i dont recomend you go to school until you have recovered. Your brain is at its most vulnerable right now and its better to be safe than sorry, so take as much time as you need to go through the motions and only be in class if you are feeling ok for it. Definiely go see a doctor, get lots of rest, and dont get cocky with your return to play or I promise youll regret it. Good luck bud, all the power to ya

Uh, yeah, going to a doctor is a total must in your case. If this is your fourth concussion, then that is not a good thing, and you have to be totally open and honest with your doctor. Chances are you will be referred onto a neurologist, and you will have to have some scans done of your head. While I respect the fact that you're a football player you might need to spend some time on the bench for a while in light of what you're describing. The symptoms you're having are not good, and you will have long-term problems if you continue with intensive football for the time being. Right now you have to make sure you're on the road to recovery and need to take care of your body first before football. You only have to look at the number of former NFL players who have the same problems as you do and who are telling anyone like you to put your health before sports otherwise you'll end up like them in really bad shape.
Make a point of telling your parents about your problems, and assuming your coach is decent, you might also want to tell him/her as well. Seek medical attention as soon as you can so that if there are any problems they can be fixed soon.

Yeah, see a Dr asap for concussions.
I was a pasinger in an awful triple rollover crash and got a moderate brain injury. I was knocked unconscious and my eye was blown. The paramedics didn't know what was wrong with me and thought I was fine. (The old school "eh just a bump on the head, shell wake up"). They sent me to the wrong hospital lost valuable time there and my brain swelled and I ended up with semi permanent damage and a permanently fucked up eye due to their incompetence in diagnosing me at the site. My family is in the midst of a lawsuit for this. Even my old doc said I should have been flown to the city hospital straight off.
Lesson learnt, never screw around with any type of head injury! Ever!!! I know I never will!
The brain injury is shit. I wouldn't wait because waiting can cause you months or even a lifetime of conciquences. Imagine having those headaches and symptoms for 6 months to a year or more! That could happen if you don't get the right treatment. I would quit football less you can avoid any more concussions.

Good. I got cleared a few days ago. I'm still having headaches whenever I try to exercise too hard, however. But all in all, I'm a lot better.
