What do you think about the new Mazda 6?

I really like it. It sorta reminds me of a late model BMW.
The styling is great in short. I've also heard that it has excellent performance and gas mileage. It's also a great price at 25 grand in the US.

Oh my God, I f***ing hate how all these $20,000-$30,000 cars are trying to look like luxury brands. Specially Kia!!! Doesn't anyone know what privilege is??

I actually like it, but I'd never buy a Mazda personally. I'm a huge fan of Japanese cars, but Mazda is one I wouldn't touch.

Yeah. How dare they want to make cars look good. Everyone who can't afford $50,000+ cars should be driving shit boxes.
/sarcasm.
Personally I think the 2014 Mazda6 is the best looking car in its class. I'd probably still buy an Accord, simply for the engine/transmission choices, but the 6 would definitely be second.

Its just when luxury brands come out with some new type of technology, we have to pay thousands more for them and other manufactures begin to copy and then the next year all these $15,000 economy cars start to have them standard!!

If automakers went by that logic cheap cars today would still have wind-up windows and no air conditioning. Every car now has electric windows, electric locks, air conditioning, power steering, CD/MP3/USB capability. Thats just how it works. This stuff first comes out in expensive cars because the technology is new and expensive. As the technology becomes cheaper and more commonplace, its going to be in more and more cars.

Well, actually not all of them. My mom wanted a cool little car that she liked and was cheap, so she bought a 2012 Toyota Yaris. She got the base model, and it's gote wind-up windows. It's still one of the nicest little cars I've seen in a while. Although Toyota is usually known as "Vanilla" the quality of the car is simply breathtaking. The upholstery on the seats is GREAT. Just a solid-built car.
As far as the Mazda and our friend here criticizing "cheaper brands" trying to make their cars just as good as luxury cars. It's important for you to realize that the Mazda6 is basically a luxury car. It has all the amenities that a BMW has. So if you could pay $25,000 for it, why pay $60,000? Because of a brand?

My family has had Mazda for a very long time. I've grown love for them! However, we recently invested in a Toyota, and so far it's been great! It was a bit expensive though, since I'm in Puerto Rico. A Toyota Yaris L starts at around $16k. However, after taxes, destination fees and interests, it went up to $22,500-ish.

I really like how it's styled. I haven't heard much about it, but I could possibly see myself driving one of those.

Automakers don't have privilege when it comes to design. All you're paying for with a more expensive "luxury" vehicle is the name, and the title that it carries. We really could reclassify Mazda and Kia as "Luxury Vehicles", and BMW and Mercedes as "Economy Cars", and watch the prices change. Personally, I feel that statement was rather ignorant, but it's whatever really. It's your opinion, and I can respect that.

Once the technology is out there, if car companies don't implement it, then their units won't sell. It's business. That's like saying:
Christian Louboutin made red soled shoes first, so he should be the only person who can do that, and no other shoe company can have red soles on their shoes ever.
Notice how stupid that sounds, especially since I have several shoes with red soles on them ;)
PS: I'm not trying to be an asshole, just stating an opinion.

Very true!!! It's all marketing. I always look at things from a business standpoint, and that's why I didn't go into much detail about this. However, this is true.
Some info. about the 6 you could use:
The Mazda6 now comes with a SkyActive 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine that is mated to either a 6-Speed Manual or Automatic SkyActive transmission (Tuned specifically for fuel economy.) and it produces 185 horsepower and 184 ft-lb of torque through the front wheels. Higher trims do carry Mazda's regenerative energy technology, called I-ELOOP. Basically, what it does is the following: When you brake, energy from electrical appliances the car uses, like radio and the digital gauges, will be stored in a battery. It's an infinite process. It's said to raise fuel economy about 5%. (Not that you need to save any more gasoline, as this car has an EPA rating of 40 MPG and Motor Trend testing has shown that with Premium Gasoline, you can get up to 42.9 MPG on this car, if you drive it gingerly... Which is pretty hard to do when you have all of that ZOOM-ZOOM at the tip of your fingers. Prices in the US market start at around $25,000 and you get TONS of standard features like Keyless Ignition, Keyless Entry, Bluetooth, and among others. :)

The HP and torque numbers, for that money, they better give me some 240 HP or higher in the upper trims
