CVTs just plain suck ass. They sound like shit and don't even give you the feeling of driving a car. All they do is make you concentrate less on driving and the road and more on applying makeup or texting.

I prefer automatic, but I like paddle shifters too, just only if the car has a quick shift, and your not confused as to if the car has already shifted or not.

Automatic all the way. I can drive stick, but I absolutely hate it. I have paddle shifters in my car, but I don't use them. Why bother, just let the car do it. I also have no problems with a CVT, my moms prius is a CVT and I don't think twice when driving it. My dads bmw is an 8 speed auto and I would take that over a manual any day. Sadly, my car is a 6 speed auto, but I'll take it. I don't find manuals fun, they're another thing to worry about when driving, just not for me.

Honestly, it depends on the car.
If I'm driving a city vehicle, a prius lets say (because i have a prius :P) i'd want it to be automatic.
If I was driving a fun muscle car out in the country, i'd definitely want a manual stick.
And if i was driving a supercar, i'd probably want paddle shifters.

Manual for me esp a tremic t-56 6spd and a eaton fuller 13 in my uncles w900 kenworth big rig thatone is really fun to drive

I learned to drive in a manual, and if you test it, kids that steal cars don't know how to shift. lol
The best is probably the Muncie M-22 "Rockcrusher" 4-speed manual that chevy put in the 1970 Chevelle SS 454 because it was the only transmission that could handle the engines torque.

Manuals give you more power and control over the mechanics of the vehicle.
Automatics are the norm and, yeah.
CVTs are just stupid as flip, and annoying.
Automatics with paddle shifters are fun alternative to automatics.

Even if that is true, what's wrong with that? I prefer Infiniti over Lexus, the GTR over the Corvette, Ferrari over Lamborghini. I've never driven any of those cars, but I can still prefer them right?
