Is five seven really short or just a little below average short for a full grown man. P.S I am 5'4 and 15 and my doctor says I will be around 5'7 and my height range possibility is mostly from 5'6 to 5'10. Does that seem about right?

Both my full grown brothers are 5'7 and my dad is 5'11 while my mom is 5'2.5

5'7 is a VERY average height! I will say most guys are one or two inches taller but 5'7 is not short in anyway. I think you will be fine if you are 5'7!

5'10" is average in the US, meaning 50% of men are taller and 50% are shorter.

Acually average height for a white american male is 5'10 for all american males it is only 5'9 and for the entire world it is 5'7.5. I want to know what kind of short you think it is one of the first two which say short or not really that short, just a little below average in U.S.

You're probably going to be short like me but you're not way out. I don't like being short, actually I hate it, but wtf, we can't pick and choose these things.

Did your doc X Ray your hand/wrist to determine this, or did he just say it?

The only scientific way to determine future height is with an X Ray to see the size of the remaining growth plates, typically in the hand or wrist.
Otherwise, it's really a lot of guesswork based on current size, those growth charts, and your overall appearance and progres thru puberty. Not at all scientific or accurate.

Also, the typical USA male is btw'n about 5'7" and 5'10". The average is an inaccurate statistic, that's the number of inches divided by the total number of guys. One or two at either end of the spectrum can throw the whole 'average' off. The median is what you want to look up, that's where 50% fall (half above, half below). However, if you really want a more precise statistical reference, it's the mode you want, which is the most frequently occuring number (height), as that would tell you what the most typical height is.

Whatever stat you use, though, if you look around a bunch of grown up guys, 5'7" is a fine height, not too short at all, and within the normal range, so no worries.

5'10" is average in the US, meaning 50% of men are taller and 50% are shorter.

So in the U.S., nobody is 5'10"? That's interesting.

Unless the doctor has done x-rays, commonly in the wrist to see epiphyseal plates or lines, he's basing it off of possible genetics that you got from the family. For example, if everyone is around 5'7", it's a good chance you're going to be around that height also but it's by no means a definite.

However, 5'7" seems to be a fairly common height for men. Some are shorter, some are 5'7" and some are taller.

5' 7" is normal. Don't worry about it.
There isn't much discrimination against short people these days anyhow ;)

5'10" is average in the US, meaning 50% of men are taller and 50% are shorter.

This is incorrect. The mark at which 50% of the population is both above and below it is the median, not the mean.

So in the U.S., nobody is 5'10"? That's interesting.

Ha... it's a matter of measure. The whole thing is obviously imprecise anyways because of measurement and other uncertainties. Rest assured there are lots of people who are 5'10" in the U.S. ;)
