I've been chubby most of my life, and after losing weight with abs starting to come through I get a little less self-conscious, but I don't like to go swimming or go to the beach because I don't like taking my top off. It'll take some time.

I am alright with it, like if I'm swimming with my friends or at a beach. I don't think my body is attractive to others but I perspnally like being slim so it doesn't matter.

Though I don't care, it's not like I'll take off my shurt in front of people on purpose. Like to me there is a time and a place, not that it's bad but I feel anytime people are semi-naked, there will be awkwardness

Im not fat neither slim, just average, so I don't have nothing interesting to show off. Maybe If I trained, Id be "proud" being shirtless but anyway I won't get shirtless in the street, mall… there are circumstances and circumstances :)

don't worry about it. I used to be be embarrassed too even though I was pretty skinny. Honestly though once I got into high school I didn't really care, cause really there's nothing to be embarrassed about. I had a six pack and I had times when I didn't, no ones gonna make fun of you cause they have the same exact problems so don't sweat buddy.

everytime i'm getting changed for sport or going out to the beach with mates it's a bit awkward for me. I have this mindset where i think im big, have a round figure, but everyone says i'm slim and thin and that i shouldn't diet :p maybe if i put the effort into actually working off the stomach into abs, then maybe i wouldn't feel terrible when taking off my shirt :p

I understand why so many guys feel embarrassed to take their shirts off; I'm sure at the beach or pool they feel the same way about their bodies. Don't think about what you're NOT, think about what/who you ARE. Never compare yourself to others, we all fall short in one way or another. Life's an adventure to be enjoyed, not feared. It's just fear that holds you back. You are who you are and nothing's wrong with you. It takes all kinds to make a world where everyone has a place, and something of value to contribute.

I've never been embarrassed about my body, but I've been lucky to have been blessed to love athletics, compete in sports and to love working out. I'm a carefree guy and a bit of a show-off. I love the nude beaches of So. Calif - there are so many. And there are all types of bodies there. Trust me, if you saw some of the naked bodies there, you'd go, "Damn, now there's a whale if I ever saw one; if they can go naked, then for sure I can too". And you can. Be proud of who you are and of what you've got. So many have bodies you'd NEVER want to have, so be grateful. You only live once, and this is it. And your teen years are short, so enjoy them all the more. Don't look back one day and wish you'd lived a fuller life.

I didn't think this up myself, I have a really cool mom & dad, his dad, my gramps, is gay; and I have 2 mentors in their mid-30's who help me. So I've got a good support team and get the benefit of lots of wisdom.
