So, do you think that wealth equals freedom? In my opinion it doesn't. It surely expands your economical freedom in most if not all places, but it doesn't expand your freedom as a human being. If I would be wealthy, I think it would be a burden for me. I would have to worry about my way of income a lot more because it's usually very easy to lose a job as an executive in a firm.

What type of freedom?
Freedom to? Or freedom from?

Well you will have a lot more econnomic freedom, and if some court is curropt for instance, you can bribe the judge or so. That gives you more freedom right?

Freedom economically I suppose. But in most other ways it's a constraint.

I think it's probably the other way around. Free countrys with basic protections of life, liberty, and property will fare much better then a dictator state.
Anybdoy who doesn't see that there's coorelation between liberty and prosperity has to be living under a rock, because they'res not one wealthy state that doesn't have basic freedoms for it's citizens.

Wealth gives the illusion of freedom because, things you want become easily obtainable

Wealth gives you the freedom to obtain whatever. I was watching some video of a a young billionaire being interviewed and he was going on about how he can go anywhere anytime in his private jet and anything he wants, front row seats to a concert etc is his. It's like having a magic wand.

Umm no. No country is insane enough to cause an international scandal by imprisoning a billionaire. You are stereotyping.

It gives you more freedom economically and will have an impact on other aspects of your life, so it indirectly gives your freedom yes. Materialism bows to you if you have a lot of money.
Wealth can give freedom, but wealth is not freedom.

Oh, did he offend you? He should remember that some communist countrys aren't quite that evil, shouldn't he?
I'm sure North Korea would imprison Bill Gates.

No, but if he would go to a real/socialist communist country, his safety would equal the one of the country's citizens.

At least I am not adoring slave owners who wrote your Constitution. Freedom my ass. There are no communist countries. North Korea and China are more capitalist then you think. China would like Microsoft to be registered as their brand. I am also pretty sure North Korea would want someone to develop software for them also.

Freedom is doing whatever you want and having the balls to go through with it.
Money just helps that.
Some homeless people could be more free than a rich person.

Well, more and more cops these days think it's ok to accept bribes (to all you idiots out there, it's not) so yea, I would say money equals immunity to the law. Even though it shouldn't be. :|

Okay well, I don't know whether you're a obsessant lier, whether you live in a place like Johannesburg or Detroit, or any number of things so forgive me but I'm gonna go ahead and not believe you.
Regardless, your one area, or many, doesn't account for all.

Yes, wealth does equal freedom, because money can buy almost anything, including freedom.
