Do guys hug?

I was wondering this... I have been feeling pretty low as of late and I could honestly use a hug, but I am deathly afraid of asking my best friend because I don't want him to freak out on me... I feel that this is such a stupid question but its pretty important to me.

Yes - I do hug a lot of my friends, boys and girls. I dont think any of us find it weird.

I think that has to do a lot with culture and ethnicity. I think when it come to average Anglo American younger buddies, probably not much hugging happens.
My same age cousin and I are pretty close but we don't hug. The only person I get hugs from outside of grown ups, is my best/only friend, but the thing with that is we are boyfriends (not that just hugging a best friend is in any way gay). But anyways I hope you are able to exchange hugs with him, they are good for you.

Some people are huggy types (like me) and some aren't. Either way, when a friend needs a hug, that person will be there for you and hug you back, even if it feels a little uncomfortable on his part. I am definitely a hugger. I typically hug mostly my friends that are girls but a friendly guy hug happens sometimes

I'd just tell him your problem and ask him for a hug. Where I'm from guys and girls hug hello/good bye, guys will kind of do a shoulder bump hand grab and once in a while a quick normal hug and that's all in public. Friend needs a hug cuz they're having problems and most guys are down for that if it's private. For a funeral or other horrible news would be public.
