Whenever I get cramps I find the best thing to do is actually stay active, walk if you can, steady exercise. It'll help loosen the muscles up. If you don't want to do that there's always a hot water bottle, those things are my saviour, just lay down with it but make sure it isn't too hot because you can burn yourself with that. Painkillers can help too, paracetamol and ibruprofen are the best for this (I don't know what they're called in Canada but ones a analgesic, so pain suppressor and the other is a NSAID which is basically a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) those two will help stop the pain and stop the heavy flow if you have that. Eat healthy too, that can help the cramps and I know it's easy to grab for the junk food but healthy food on a period is always going to help more. Hot showers or baths to relax the muscles, this goes for massaging the stomach and ovary area too.

I usually lay on a heating pad and eat light, if you get too full it makes them worse

Sorry this happened to you!! It really sucks, doesn't it? Hot water bottle, light and healthy food consumption and exercise will really help, and massaging. Also, try to rest as well, and try not to stress out to much, trying to relax the muscles. When mine get really bad, I take ibuprofen, which is what Kryptonite wrote helps with cramps. And yes, it's called the same thing in Canada, and you can get it at any drugstore if you didn't know that already.

Feel better!!

Ibuprofins good.

You can also go on the pill and it helps a ton. I have a condition that makes cramping unbearable and the pill helps considerably so for a normal cycle it should work fabulous! Your parents might freak if they find it so you might want to tell them why your ggetting it so they know lol

Thanks, I took ibuprofen for when I went to bed and it helped a bit. I feel a bit better today, not great but better. Thanks

I'm glad you're feeling better!
