I had to hide my wrists today
From everyone who passed my way.

They saw my face and nothing more,
But my wrists they burned down to the core.

My sleeves tugged tightly and held in my hands,
Surely no one understands.

When those sleeves slipped people turned away
And alone I was, to face another day.
