So I've been smoking for 9 years, and found out last year around christmas that I have stage 1 lung cancer, I cough up black stuff all the time and I cough up blood. Even knowing this I can't quit, I've tried a lot of things. I was able to quit marijuana and pills and alchohol but I can't quit smoking.. I guess because of the simple fact that when I try I get extremely irritable, easily mad, body pain all over, I know they are withdrawals. I guess I just don't know what to do anymore. But I go to cigarettes for everything, when I'm hungry, when I'm mad/sad/happy I mean anything, and I love smoking.. But its killing me slowly..

Have you talked to a doctor about it? I think that that would be the best thing to do.
The addiction effect is normal though, it's really tough to quit. But I know you can do it. Again a doctor would be able to help you with that.

I have and they put me on chantix which with me prexisting depression caused me to be suicidal so I stopped taking it.

I have been to a doctor several times, but thanks for the concern, I appreciate it.

1-2 packs a day and yes I have, they just don't feel right or give me the same feeling as cigarettes do, so I end up going back to cigarettes time and time again :/

Have you tried the patch or the gum? Or both? I wouldn't recommend that to many people on the site, but since you're 19 I think it could really help you out here. It won't be like the nicotine fix you get from a cigarette but it might help take the edge off a little bit to help you get started. You have to start somewhere, eh?

Try cutting back, treat yourself to something new with the money you save from not smoking so much seeing as that must be burning a hole in your pocket and try motivating yourself that way? As Mike said, there's always the patch/gum too

Ugh I hate hearing that! Cigarettes are SO Bad! They are such a bitch to quit too BUT I would recomend niccotine GUM And trying to get Bupropion I know someone who got a script for it it does NOT Get you high it helps ALOT to block Niccotine cravings and the gum is an added for cravings. it's ard I'm smokin a cig now but NOT as much as i used to!

didn't u say u have a 1 year old kid ? just think about that . try to quit smoking so things don't aggravate .you could do that by simply putting band=aid on the filter .I know some of my friends that quit smoking because of that . the taste is horrible and instead of smoking when mad . try working out . and when ur hungry . just eat something lol . don't need to smoke

Hopefully your scenario will help show people that smoking just really isn't worth it. I wish you the best of luck :/
