Well I was asked to go to the swimming pool on the weekend with family, and I foolishly said yes, and now I'm worried about them seeing the scars on my shoulder from cutting. Any ideas on how to hide them, that will work in the pool? For reference none of the cuts are open, the most recent being from a bit over a week ago..

Either you'll just wear a shirt in the pool or rather give excuses that you suddenly don't feel like swimming or even not going with them at all.

You can try makeup, or as Lil said give an escuse, like 'Oh iĞm not feeling quite well, better not risk it.'

I've had to do this. Wear a shirt lol. No one asks. If they do say. I have sensitive skin and don't want a sun burn. Works like a charm!
Wear one that's light, preferably a muccle shirt or spandex because they dry faster than cotton or polyester.
You should be able to find a mmuscle shirt at a Walmart or sports shop no problem. Lots of guys here have them.
Edit: I think it's called muccle shirt. That's what my school called them and guys couldn't wear them but for sports. They were tight fitting long sleeve shirts.

Water-proof/resistant base makeup works like a charm, although wearing a shirt is acceptable, definitely if you are insecure like me x.x but another thing I've learned, you can't hide scars forever, I just embrace mine like they aren't even there, yes people said stuff about it for a while but after so long they don't even notice anymore.

as everyones said tshirts, but if you can't do that, scars often aren't as obvious as you think, I've gone swimming with a full arm of scars/freshish cuts in the past and nobody blinked an eye, many people aren't as observant as you think.

Your best bet is to say you aren't feeling well enough to swim anymore

Say you're not feeling well. Or a t-shirt, or waterproof makeup. In the meantime put some creams on the scars.
There are even swim shirts you can wear.
