View Full Version : Celebrities Covering one Eye

It is rather uncanny how many celebrities in recent years, ranging from actors to musicians, are often photographed with their hand over one eye. I've heard a variety of conspiracy theories regarding this, like that it's supposed to be a secret Illuminati symbol (more all-seeing-eye crap) and it's their way of showing which celebrities are part of their plan to rule the world, or something like that. I've never been one to believe in conspiracy theories, but the pattern is rather intriguing. The thing is, though, I haven't had much luck finding sites giving alternative, non-conspiracy biased interpretations. What do you people think?

It's the illuminati! Celebrities have conspired with aliens and reptilians alike to enslave the human race. I'm not quite sure yet as the story is still developing, but I've heard the mole people might also be part of this.

They're trying to cover their entire face because they're tired of being photographed by paparazzi. You only see the pictures where their face is partially covered because those are the only ones where you can actually tell it's them.
Very simple and reasonable explanation.

This makes way more sense than wildly claiming that its the illuminati.

But it's even in pictures that were taken as professional publicity shots. You can see some here.

Again, I am NOT saying that this is proof of a conspiracy, but it seems too prevalent just to be a fashion trend or something that the photographer told them to do. (Unless they're all suddenly trying to be the same instead of being "different and unique") Maybe I'm over-thinking the whole thing, but still...

I'm sure you can also find pictures of celebrities drinking water and you'll have a field day coming up with more crazy theories. Seriously, it's just something people do, like how girls on Facebook do the duck lip thing. Nothing more.

That's a bit ridiculous, I think. I pretty much agree with Korashk's explanation.

Right. Like how doing the finger-to-thumb meditation gesture is secretly a symbol for 666. I just love the degree of self-righteousness present in the Conspiracy community. And they're all like: "Of course it's a secret sign! Why else would this highly obscure, ambiguous and purposeless symbol exist? And the beauty of it is that they're trying to tell EVERYONE about their influence in the world by using things that people would NEVER notice or care about unless they were deliberately pointed out."

Hmm a demographic of well-known people are all doing a similar thing? Must be the illuminati. Seriously, if the illuminati was a secret society, we shouldn't know anything about it. They, by definition, are not a secret society in the first place

But that's the beauty of it! They're putting they're symbol on everything in a way that nobody can possibly tell is related to them in order to show their influence!:D

What is their symbol exactly? Mildly irritated celebrities?

The conspiracy theorists say it has something to do with the whole "all-seeing-eye" thing, or something like that. I've always thought it to be rather ironic that the all-seeing-eye is always equated with Freemasons and the Illuminati and their conspiracy to keep tabs on the whole world, but it was actually developed by early Christians as a symbol of God.

I've seen that and always thought they are trying to cover their face so paparazzi can't get rich off of pictures of them..?

I don't think anyone (other than a handful of people) actually believes this theory.

Probably popular culture and/or coincidence. But my mind is open, I don't make final conclusions on these things.

I know, one person decided to do it on a photoshoot and then it became a thing because it looked 'cool'
