I started doing pushups every day for around a month now and the signs are really starting to show. When I first started I could only do five without stopping , But I would do five, wait a couple of seconds and do another five, I would do around three sets of these a day. At first it was hard, but now I can do 35 in a row and I do two sets of 35 and then 20-25. I have seen great improvement in my core (Never thought that pushups would help the core, but it is basically like doing a plank at the same time!), my pecks and my arms (And I have also been told by family that they have noticed my arms getting stronger).

I was wondering, how many pushups can you do in a row?

Also, what workouts would you reccomend to get a muscular back? Secondally, what workouts/diets would you suggest to lose belly fat (I have given up carbonated drinks and fatty foods, but I would like to lose weight faster!)?

Thank you for any responses.

Push-ups are the best, I do them everyday. I started out similarly, only 5 at once. The most I've done straight is 75, but I prefer to do them in sets of 30.

Two good back workouts are pull-ups, and a rowing machine (if you have acess to one).

As far as the diet, I'm not very savvy with that kind of stuff. I recommend burning more calories than you eat if you want to lose fat. Running is one of the best ways to do that.

I think my dipped chest gives my a lower lung capacity, so whenever I do running for more than 10 minutes loads of saliva builds up and I get a huge cough :( Maybe it will go over time but you know... sadface.

Are rowing machines better or worse for losing fat because I love rowing machines. Something about them I just find fun :)

As for calories wise, I have given up all carbonated drinks (which is harder than you think! I am pretty sure they make coke addictive...) and I dont really buy sweets any more. Also, I heard that salt is bad for having a thin core because salt holds onto water which makes your tummy bigger.

One other thing I find is that breakfast never makes it all the way to lunch... I would get hungry about 1-2 hours beforehand. Normally I would have a big bowl of cheerios too...

For the back I would suggest 2 things if you are going bodyweight, chin ups and hindu pushups, yeh the last one suggested is a form of pushup but it really blasts your lats big time.

Than running

Cardio (running) is way better for fat-burn than doing weights.

I meant, is running better for burning fat than going on the rowing machine?

I guess running is better for burning fat. If you want to lose your belly fat, you need to work out your whole body, because there's no way you can lose localized fat, unless with cirurgy.
