Wow I feel like an idiot : /

On Friday night I went shopping for my best friend's birthday gift, and was in a horrible mood. I couldn't find her anything, even though she would have liked anything I looked at. It was totally weird. I was like in a bad mood for no reason at all. So on Saturday, I went again, and the same exact thing happened. I just couldn't find or decide on anything. But Friday night, I was going to the bathroom and happened to glance at my underwear, not on purpose or anything, my eyes just landed there. And there was a brownish stain in them. But it wasn't something that I would think would be my period. Some parts of it seemed thicker, like jello that hasn't set all the way or something. So I kind of just ignored it, and changed my underwear. Saturday there was a little more, and Sunday too. Today I didn't feel very well at school or at basketball practice. I had sort of a stomach ache, but more like cramps or something. Do I have some sort of a vaginal infection or am I starting my period? By the way, aside from the cramps, there isn't any pain "down there"

i'm not a girl of course, but that sounds like starting your period to me. but another girls opinion here would be great.

I would be you a million dollars you've just started your period. Lol you sound pretty much exactly the same as me my first time. Talk to your mom about it, she can help a lot in matters like these :daisy:

Yup. :) Most girls think it'll be bright red when they start their period, but it actually tends to be more of a brown. Congrats is all I can think of to say other than was Val mentioned about talking to your mom.

Nope. It just works that way. Also, blood isn't the only thing that comes out, there's also a little bit of tissue from the vaginal walls, this builds up to make it more comfortable and insulated for a potential baby. So that usually comes out in little chunks here and there, in my experience there isn't much though.

Blood coagulates and oxidizes when exposed to air, so the blood would be brown, lumpy, and hard by the time you found it partially dried, too.

And let's remember of course that this is menstrual fluid, not just straight blood, it also includes endometrial cells, cervical mucus and vaginal secretions.
