So I have never had one cause I started early, so I am giving up to see what they are like. Is it worth it? And are they good?? How long would it take to have one?? Also have you had one and at what age.

It is something most boys experience early in puberty, but most of them only experience it one or two times, so it isn't something regular, like a male period.

The medical term gives a good hint: "nocturnal emission." This means that the boy's body is gearing up for adulthood, and that includes his sexual equipment, and that includes his prostate gland, that walnut-shaped, fluid-emitting thing in his interior that you may have heard about. (When I was a teen I hadn't yet heard of it = terrible.)

What happens is that, while asleep, his prostate overruled his conscious self (which is why it happens while he's asleep) and engaged the male sexual response, and his penis ejaculated. (This dischage may be white, clear, a little yellow or lumpy, but it is always sticky.) Most of the volume of semen comes from prostatic fluid; sperm and relatively little extra fluid come from the testicles.

The dream usually begins when the boy is about to orgasm (c*me). Sometimes the experience is beautiful, a type of symbolic initiation; sometimes it's terrifying, a type of symbolic rape. According to psycho-analytic theory, the content of the dream is largely symbolic. The main point is that it's unavoidable. Also that there's nothing dirty or deranged about it. If the boy had drunk one too many glasses of water before bedtime, he'd probably dream about lakes, rivers, or just plain having to pee.

Many, perhaps most, boys are quite young when this happens, and the usual reaction is fear, bewilderment (especially if he has had no real sex education) and perhaps disgust at the messed-up sheets. But some men do go on to have another and handle it less terrifically the second time.

In some cases, relatively few, there are men who have frequent wet dreams, realize in their dream that an orgasm is impending, say "to hell with it" to themselves and c*m in the sheets anyway. These men need good understanding wives to wash the sheets several times a week or make the guy do it.

Most often, though, what happens is that after one or two nocturnal emissions the boys have got enough sense to masturbate before things get that desperate. (In a wet dream, the prostate isn't showing off, it's desperate to shed fluid.)

Masturbation is a healthy, normal experience that shouldn't be considered shameful, blameful, or blasphemous. If a teenage boy doesn't masturbate at least every so often, his prostate will get backed up, and he'll be courting prostate cancer in his middle aged. If a guy masturbates and happens to enjoy the experience, that's fine, too, as long as he isn't wearing himself out or getting hooked on porn just to c*me. By the time most boys are 14 or 15 or 16, (sometimes later), they'll be doing it two or three times a week or more, sometimes two or three times a day, and be perfectly normal.

Thank God there's more information out there today about masturbation. Though I myself don't think teens should get involved with hard-core porn, here is a site that is non-pornographic but very informative. To understand the opposite sex, and for a little extra knowledge, including some about nocturnal emission, I recommend you go to: www.jackinworld.com
(btw there's also a link to female masturbation).

Even if it's pretty scary, a wet dream by its rarity is something cherished. Don't be offended if he doesn't want to talk about it. Not before you know each other quite well, anyway. The term "it's a guy thing" is very pertinent here, though a lot of men never talk of it at all.

I'm like you, I started early too, so never had one. From what I head, if you can hold off for several days to the extent that you're going asleep horny, you may get one (and a rather sexy dream!). Weather it's worth waking up to the mess is another matter.

It's really natural to have wet dreams, you just have to wait. I was 14 when I had my first wet dream. It's kind of annoying because you have to clean it up in the morning, but the feeling itself is good.

I haven't had one yet and I'm also 14. I think they come later during puberty but I'm not sure. Even though alot guys have them at some point during puberty it's defenitly possible you don't get any. Hope that helps!

From what I have read they are usually not all that great. If you remember the dream, it is usually something weird. But a lot of the time you just wake up with your underwear full of cold goo, or it is all over you and your bedsheets. Now I have had one so far and I actually woke up as I was ejaculating and it did feel really good, but I don't think it happens that way very often.
