Whats your taste in Music? Are you specific? Do you listen to anything? Do you listen only to a certain genre? Only like certain artists? Songs with powerful emotion? Voice power and range? Fast or Slow? Something else? Or are you a divergent listener, collecting songs from all over the world based on your unique and individual taste? :D

My Taste is Divergent.
You can not categorize my music list no matter how hard you try. I have a specific taste that can not be explained. I will listen to any song that has those special qualities that are "music to my ears" so to speak. Hehe! I often pick songs sung in languages I do not know simply because they just have that pleasing quality. When its right I need not even understand the lyrics, the 'music speaks' for it self.
I may pick many songs from one artist or pick only one song out of hundreds by a single artist. They can be famous bands or singers, or an unknown band on youtube. I never care who it is long as the music is good. I listen to songs from Lady gaga to songs from scremo bands, as long as the song has that special quality its a hit with me.
The quality is a combination between lyrics, voice, audio track and emotion. However a song may not have lyrics and i will still like it. Some songs have everything going for them but one wrong verse or beat or chink in the vocals and it ruins the whole song for me.
The best song is OH SO rare, and carries the proper lyric, voice, audio and emotion throughout the entire song. I put a few of those on the top of the list but the rest is in no order.

Well seeing as you have seen part of my list of bands that I like I'm going to describe why I like them and why I choose certain bands :p

Well since I am a singer myself, personally not professionally, I only like songs that relate to me, my life, things I've experienced myself, or have heavy emotions behind their lyrics. I'm universal when it comes to music but I don't like country very much. I live in texas so I've just about had it with country lol. I also like songs that I can match pitch too, its funny to do with people I trust because I can match amy lee's voice xD I sung one of her songs for all state choir auditions one time.

And I forgot to mention another one of my all time favorite bands to sing too and that would be seether :D

Rock and metal are my favorite genres, and I like classical, though I admit there are a few pop tracks here and there that I somewhat like, and Not Afraid by Eminem is inspiring. However, I despise most pop and rap.

I don't think that's unusual. That's cool. I love classical music (I play mostly classical music on the piano and violin so yeah).

I usually know from the first 2 seconds of a song whether I'll like it or not. If it's upbeat and follows a specific pattern which appeals to me (I really can't describe it) then I can listen to it hours on end

Other than that, I like other random genre songs such as Uniting Nations - You and Me, some other Euro songs but generally I like all music.

Umm. Hard to really describe because it isn't the genres I like. I can go through a handful of artists from genres I like and come up with none of them because it's more dependent on the artist individually. Typically, we're looking at alternative, electrorock, piano rock, trip-hop, synthpop, darkwave, industrial rock, steampunk, dark cabaret, post punk, goth rock, dream pop, ambient, baroque pop, etc etc. I lean toward female vocalists as well.
