What is the fastest time you have a ran a mile in?
I got 5 minutes 38 seconds today in school, I was about 10 seconds off from breaking the record in my grade.

don't laugh, but the best I've ever gotten is in the 8 minute range .__.
I start off with good power, but I always loose it by the last quarter mile.

Haha just joking. 5 minutes 48 seconds. Running is the only thing athletic that I'm any good at.

I don't think I can physically run a mile. I can barely walk it. I get awful cramps in my ribs.

9 minutes 49 seconds. I suck at long distance running. (I usually run it in 10-11)

Around an 8. It's so hard to get any faster, and it almost blows my mind that there are people out there who can run like a 5 or 6 minute mile.. taking 2 minutes off my mile time would destroy me haha.
I'm more of a sprinter, and I do high intensity intervals, but just not so much distance. I did try to run for distance for a while, but I gave up on that.

That would mean you are a very dedicated athlete.
How do you train?? And what distances mainly.

I train yearly for competitive triathlon in order to make the cut for the Junior/U20 Canadian Championships. Even with my fast times, I still have a very long way to go to even have a chance at cracking the international scene.
Apart from my monthly break in the end of the year, my daily schedule is something like this:
4500M Swim
140KM Bike
30KM Run
For running, I try mixing intervals, tempo runs and long runs. I'm not as fit as I used to be as I was sick with mononucleosis for nearly a whole year. I like doing series of sprint distances for the mile, especially, such as doing repetitions of 100M, 200M and 400M in order to build the intensity needed for such a short distance.
I love sports, especially triathlon, but I don't think I'll be able to turn pro, even after my studies. I at least enjoyed the time I had and plan to stay on the circuit as long as I can before moving on.

Average is 9 minutes, but my record is 7 min, 31 sec. Considering I'm not very athletic, that's pretty good
