It's gotten to the point where when I tell them my girlfriend is coming over, they know sex is going to happen, so they leave us alone on the couch or not come into the room (like tonight)

and they just want me to be safe

They don't tell me when THEY have sex and I don't tell them when I do it. They know what they know and don't go there when we talk about stuff. They expect me to be safe and smart. My dad doesn't get into specifics of when, who, or where. He just tells me to be sure to be safe *if* I do it and if I need condoms then to tell him and he will be sure I have them. "I'm not telling you to do it or not to do it. But I'm realistic. So if you don't have them, tell me so that you always have one."

your parents don't need to know and mostly likely they won't want to know. eventually they will assume you are but due to privacy, embarrassment and general social etiquette they won't ask or expect to be told.

No I don't discuss the specifics of my sex life with my parents. I don't know if they suspect, but both me and my younger bro (14) are sexually active. We share a large bed room in the basement and we sneak girls in at night when we want to (parents sleep on the second floor and can't hear anything).
I've heard him having sex as well he has heard me. We just keep it between us and don't discuss it with our parents.
