My mom just caught me looking at Facebook. She doesn't know I have one, and since she's pretty strict, it was probably for the best to keep it from her. Even worse, the page I was on was a girls picture. What should I do?

A better question is to first let us know what she did. Did she really catch you, or just walk in and not give your computer use a second thought?

I don't see what you can do about it. Either your mom will take action or you're off the hook and just be more careful next time. Or just follow the house rules, but yeah.

I was like in my first year using fb.
Then I decided to tell her.
She was a bit worried at first since fb might make me lose lots of precious time which is surely not good for my studies.
But, she became ok with it.

Of course; she might not know enough about Facebook to realize that in order for you to be looking at your friends page....you would most likely need to have a page of your own to sign in on.
So.....don't assume that she knows you have a FB page; which from what you say .....she has forbidden.
I guess I don't understand what the big ddeal would be. So she saw you looking at a "proper" picture of a girl. Is that bad somehow?
I realize that you're not supposed to have a FB page yourself......but she might not know that you have one....
Good luck....Marty

The best question is why Facebook? Why even bother
Seriously though, it's not a big deal. Did she say anything about it?

Honestly, I don't see Facebook as anything but a bunch of drama or a diary. But, I use mine to post quotes, say what's going on in my life, and talk to people.
But it's not really a bad site so she shouldn't have issues with it.

Facebook is literally useless to be honest. Don't see the point in having one.

well, first of all, im quite sorry you have such a strict mom. it's gonna blow until she eases up on you.
second of all, i wouldnt say facebook is useless and yes, there sure is drama if you have befriended people who make it there, duh.
since i live without my family, i keep in touch with them through facebook, it has also became pretty "basic" tool when it comes to networking, making plans for events and deciding on stuff with friends is much more easier thanks to fb,
so yeah, my facebook isnt uselesss neither full drama, sorry if yours is :D

Thanks everyone. She hasn't mentioned it, soooo I'm guessing I just overreacted.
