So after finally joining this site and for the first time ever i confessed my deepest darkest secret(cutting) last night i did have the urge to cut, but with the help of venting on here and reading about other peoples problems and texting friends about other stuff i didn't relapse! but i have noticed in the past week my eating habits have changed? Like im eating but just not as much or i don't really have the desire to eat lately? Like today i woke up at 11 and ate an apple, and i was very busy today so i wasnt home at all but i haven't eaten anything except that apple and im not hungry(its 10 40) Is this normal or have anything to do with SH addiction? :what:

I have this same thing. idk if its related to SH, but I wouldn't be surprised. My episodes of no appetite came and go.

well this is just great.... bc im a competitive dancer and if i pass out while running a mile like we do twice a week...im screwed...thanks though for the input!

Good for you for not cutting!!! I don't know if not eating is related to the lack of self harm but I recommend you eat something anyways, even if you're not hungry. Some fruit or a small snack, or if you're thirsty you might not realize you're hungry, that happens to me a lot.

ya i have been drinking water, but idk i guess i just wont eat tonight? Its weird i just dont have a desire to eat what so ever! but thanks for the input!

Are you sure? I really think you should eat, another small apple? It won't feel like you're being filled up and it is a light snack. I obviously can't force you to do anything but I seriously think you should eat.

thank you for being concerned, it means a lot to know someone that doesn't even know me cares about me! But i was talking to a friend tonight about how i only ate like an apple today and i felt like i could talk to her bc i have noticed she has been having trouble with her weight lately and has went on days with out eating and it kinda helped me just being able to vent and have someone that i could relate to with the new weird eating habit But thanks again! i will try a little harder to eat tomorrow, i guess we will just have to see how my mood is

I have felt the same as you over the past week or so, have only really been drinking coffee but not eating much. But I am sure for you it will disappear after a while and you'll be hungry again :)
Just remember to keep hydrated though!

I have this same...eating habbit. Im just never hungry. Actually i cant finish a whole apple in one setting lol. Im a gymnast with lots of muccle so i have to MAKE my self eat so i dont start burning muccle during workout. I just nibble on stuff. Healthy foods and i have my sugar before my workouts for extra energy burst. On weeks that i dont workout I usually dont eat much. Kind of that new fasting is healthy thing they say on tv :p
And I am NOT anorexic. Im plenty healthy says my doc ;)

As far as i'm aware this isn't directly related to self-harm. When we feel down, depressed everything loses interest, even food. So while its not related with self-harm but it's certainly related with depression and whatnot.
Try to eat small protions of food throughout the day, its easier.

I think it might be a stage of depression, I loose my appetite frequently
