View Full Version : Should females have the option of being circumcised?

To Be Clear I am Not talking about the complete removal of the clitoris Just the removal of the clitoral hood.
I was reading the Circumcision 'contravenes child's human rights' thread and wondered if females would be willing to get circumcised.
The Clitoral hood is considered the equivalent of the foreskin and removal would apparently create better hygiene and lessen the effect of smegma around the vagina. It has also been reported to lead to better orgasms, exposing more surface area of the clitoris to enable more stimulation.

I don't even know what female circumcision is, but it sounds even worse then male circumcision.

Holy crap, that sounds painful. Other chicks can totally do it if they want, but I personally wouldn't want anything removed from my private area.

It is not truly equal to the male foreskin. There are nerve centers in the male foreskin which increase pleasure.

Um, yeah... Not sure if this is true but the forskin holds more never endings than the clit, but doesn't give pleasure...or some crap like.

no, no way when male circumcision is being debated why have more?

Um female circumcision should be optional not offered at child birth unless it's a growing trend here

I heard female circumcision happens in some places in Africa but thousands of girls die from it

very true, no pain killers either, while that is not an issue here. I strongly oppose it and why introduce it when male circumcision is in question?

The OP states that's its different to the ones in Africa where the whole clitoris is removed, it simply removes the hood.

In question? You mean on this forum right? It's right at the bottom of the list for any government. Literally it's not at all a big issue in society. Just like the bloke you quoted you've misunderstood what the OP said- it's not the removal of female sex organs

it's not even on government agenda it's pointless and I know it's not I read it but it still doesn't change my opinion

I believe parents should have power so to be honest that out weighs my consent thoughts and you can't stop Jews from doing it anyway, religions are protected

I know but you made out like it was a big issue didn't you, I ensure you that the commons hasn't discussed it at all within the last 20 years

no way when male circumcision is being debated

It's also rather broad and incorrect to say religions are protected, I mean yes canon law protects the church of England but that's really only in theory. The government have the power to pass laws affecting and changing religion.

they have the power to make you stand up every hour and say hail Cameron but they can't if you see what I mean? in the same sense religions are protected

it causes debate when people talk about it however from my experiences it's like abortion, disagreements on wether to do it or not but all agree it should be legal

are you for this? I see no reason to support it really

No wrong type. This circumcision is of the whole clit. I'm talking about the safer clitoral hood removal. It is actually more common in Asian states than African.

@harry smith thank you for reading op and clearing things up. In some post it is clear some people did not read op, misunderstand op or lacked the background knowledge on the issue.

Well, I wouldn't have it done, and I sure wouldn't do it to my kids or anything like that.

Some opt for circumcision later in life. I think if girls want to do that, the should be able to. Like guys.
But I think any non-essential body modification at birth should be illegal.

May I ask your stance on male circumsion ?

Circumcision to me should be left up to the person but so many parents have their childrn circumcised. I would not do it to any of my children when I do have children one day.

I just answered that on the male circumcision thread.

If you don't think it's right, don't do it. If you do, then do.

Yes, please! Well kinda... I don't care about my hood but I want rid of my labia minora so bad they're dangley and ugly
Well it's your body, do what you want...but ask yourself, do you really feel like that need to happen?
It's just for ascetics right? On a part of your body that 0.00000007% (I did the maths) of the population will see?

Circumcision is a horrible practice only used to control people by reducing their ability to enjoy sexual stimulation.

I did read OP, but I seriously doubt that, as in the case of male circumcision, complete removal of the foreskin is known to greatly decrease sexual stimulation as it contains much, if not most of the nerve endings of the penis. Same goes for the clitoral hood.

It should be optional and not done at birth.
