First of all, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post.
But anyway, here is the story....

At my school we have annual events that give awards to the kids for exceptional performance in a subject, or improving or winning a sports cup or something of that nature. I've been to these things the last few years and to be fair, they're ****. You go to the venue at about half 10 in the morning and spend all day there until the ceremony thing starts at about 6PM to about 8.

All you do is sit down for hours then walk up to the stage and collect a certificate which takes literally a minute. My parents already signed a letter saying I am allowed go and that's it. The ceremony is tomorrow however and I really really don't want to go for the life of me. I'm not a really public person and really would rather spend my time doing something more productive. Tomorrow is also when we have our sport lesson, and I get to spend that with the girl I love more than anything else in the world and for that reason it is the only lesson I enjoy at school all week, and as sad as it may seem that is the thing I count down to all week.

Anyway, I'm not sure whether to beg the teacher to not let me go becuase I don't have to go and I can't really convince my parents because they're stubborn as hell.

Sorry for the rant, but any help would be appreciated :(

The only "Legal" (put it in quotes, because both ways are technically legal...) is to tell your parents. Tell them what else is going on that you want to go to. The other way is to try and sneak out.

But don't you always have sports lessons? Once a week or every other day...whatever your school does. Can't you spend time with the girl the next meeting?

Yeah, we have sports once a week, but even that seems too long a wait :/
And she isn't the type of person to go out and socialise, so it's very hard to see her outside of school and our sports lessons

Only other way i'd recommend is pretty much just dont go to the event. Sneak out and go to sports instead
