'The New York Police Department has issued a statement in which users have been asked to update their iPad and iPhone devices from old versions to newly released iOS 7.'
So, did NSA find a new 0-day to use on this versions of the software, exploit it and get even more info? Or is the NYPD just worried since Apple products are favorite targets for robbers. :what:

It is possible that the NSA is behind that. If they are, they take it too far. Most terrorists don't have money for an apple product or don't want to use it. I am not into apple products, so I don't know if it's for preventing robbings or not, but who will know? Maybe it's for both.

Umm.. people should be able to have whatever version they want. Personally, on my ipod I have iOS 6, simply because it's a 3 year old 4th gen that isn't compatible with iOS 7.

Um.. The 9/11 terrorist took thousand dollar flight classes.

It was a request not an order. Its most likely to protect and make it easier to locate the product if stolen.

so, as someone who stays updated with black hat news, i have learned two things about iOS 7. iOS 7, though it is easier to track to find it, makes it its own enemy. easier to track, means that hackers and exploiters can use it for bad. and the governement can track citizens.

I said most terrorists, not all. iOS7 actually makes the device easier to track, which can be used by a hacker, the police if the device is stolen, or the NSA to monitor movement.
