I relapsed today after being clean for 13 months. I'm so angry at myself, I'd done so well. I took the blade out of a sharpener and now that I have a blade handy I'm scared I'm gonna keep doing it. I actually have a question, if my cuts become infected what can I do other than get medical help? I don't want my mum to find out again so I did it on my hip where my knickers cover it so no one will see but if I go see anyone to help they will tell her and then it will get worse-.- any ideas?

13 months? you did great. part of recovery is relapsing, or so i am told, but you did it once, you can do it again. I know it may seem hard, but get rid of that blade, no matter how hard it may seem. throw it in the trash and cover it with rotten food or something. As for the question, i can't really help you, other should be able to. but say strong :hug3:

as Niilo said relapse is unfortunately a perfectly common part of recovering, sometimes you need to fall down to know you can get back up as disheartening as falling down is. Throw it away seriously, you know in yourself it's not worth it.
As for the question, try and prevent it getting infected, use some sort of antibacterial cream and try to keep it as clean as possible to avoid things like that. It's fairly likely that as you're under 18 someone will tell your mother, so if you really don't want her knowing just try and avoid infections with the cuts you have, and preferably don't make any more :hug3:

First be proud of the fact that you went so long without. Second get rid of that damn knife. Bacitracin zinc ointment is what I like best for keeping infection away, followed by Neosporin and Bactine. This is just a typical little set back, not a defeat. You've really done so well, congratulations.
