Auto 'bump' Button

I would like to suggest a button that you could click to bump your thread automatically rather than having to go to your thread and post "Bump!"

Don't know how hard would be to code such thing or if there's something like that on the wild. Plus that could bring a bit of lagg.
To be honest i dont think that its necessary.

While I do see how it could be useful...In all honesty it isn't needed and would be abused beyond belief and if we set a system where you could do it every so often it wouldn't really be used because honestly bump their thread every 24 hours. I mean in my entire time here at VT I don't think I've bumped a lot of threads.

It would also be a lot of hassle to install something like this and would probably only add more strain to the server.

It would be abused and would cause a lot of lag, a lot of people don't bump threads anyways. I never have.

I rarely have to bump anything, but if I do, I'd rather acompany it with a short message why I bumped it.

I really don't see that being all to helpful because it would give new members that are in P101 a lot the idea that bumping is a good thing when it really isn't when approaching the 2 months of inactivity.

If it's in a thread where bumping's allowed, then it shouldn't be too hard to post "bump."

If you're going to bump a thread wouldn't you generally want to bump it with an actual post? Most of the time when an OP bumps his or her thread it's to update it with new information.

We're already having slight issues with lag, adding a plugin for this would just be unnecessary.
