Some of you already might know, but for those who don't today is the day when the Earth has neither hemisphere tilted away or towards the sun. It's the time of year (around September 22 annualy) when everyone on Earth gets the same day length as everybody else.
This equinox is the Southward Equinox, where the Southern hemisphere is tilting towards the sun while the Northern hemisphere is tilting away. So for all those down south, summer is on its way. For us in the north, winter is coming. Some links for more info:
