For those who don't know with a capture card you can basically record from your TV and Consoles.

What is the brand and model of your capture card?
What quality does it record in?
Does it come with its own software?
How much does it take to set up? Is it complicated?
Are you satisfied with your capture card?

My answers:
What is the brand and model of your capture card? Happauge HDPVR 2 Gaming Edition Plus
What quality does it record in? 1080p
Does it come with its own software? The plus edition does
How much does it take to set up? Like 5 minutes, it is really simple.
Are you satisfied with your capture card? Very much so, my previous one was terrible.

Oh my god that was a HUGE pain in the ass. It rarely worked; when it did, it tended to stop soon after.

What is the brand and model of your capture card? Hauppage something-or-other
What quality does it record in? Crap. This was regardless of the quality setting in the crappy, proprietary(and likely noting more than a wrapper around ffmpeg) recording software, which I guess brings us to:

Does it come with its own software? Yes, and it sucked. 1MB per second or too small to believe and the differences in quality were minute.

How much does it take to set up? Is it complicated? Installing anything in my case takes lots of care so as not to crack the motherboard(I didn't have enough spacers so some parts are not screwed in, hehe). Linux recognized it, but I was not able to actually get anything out of it. You will learn very quickly that v4l sucks.
Years ago, with Windows, the situation described earlier took place.

Are you satisfied with your capture card? No. But they all suck, as not much care is put into their implementation. Nobody really uses them besides a very small number of people(we all know that using one's PC as DVR was a flop), so there is no reason for competition.

I Don't have one yet, but plan on getting one to maybe start a side job (such as those video gamers/commentators who get paid on youtube). Im entertaining and fun, so I might have a chance.
