View Full Version : Stressed

Today whilst stapling the pages of my book report together in class, the idea of putting a staple in my arm came out of no where. I didn't do it simply because there were other people around. This week has been too stressful. I've been tired the entire week. I've never cut before (I have burned though), but for some reason it seems so appealing right now. My mind isn't in the right place right now simply because I'm tired. This paired with all the stress is not a good thing. The main cause of my stress this week was the book report I was stapling together. That's done now, but I still don't feel better. I guess I realize that I only get a two day break before I have to start this whole process over again. Next week might not be as stressful, but eventually I'll have another project of some sort due and I'll just feel like I do now all over again. It seems easier to just give up.
I feel like the stress is eating away at me and the only way to get it out is to cut.

Cutting only ever gave me temporary relief (I've managed to stop for a while), but as soon as I realised what I'd done it gave me more stress. Obviously it's not the same for everyone but do you really want to risk giving yourself more stress by doing something to try relieve the stress you already have? What I used to do was email someone I could trust and who was there for me a message on how I felt at that exact moment, then after it was out I couldn't brong myself to do it cause I didn't want to upset that person. Everyone has different ways of handling stress, dont let yours be cutting, its not worth it.

Try going for a walk, or breathing exercises.
Massages can also make you feel less stressed and help alleviate anxiety and pain.
Find something you find relaxing and do that.
Also, get a good sleeping schedule and stick to it.
That should help with your stress

You need a good night of sleep. The stress by it self is bad, but if you add self harm to that it becomes a lot worst. Since burning is also a form of self harm you know that it doesn't help. In fact it makes things a lot worst, burning is like cutting.
Since you'll have a week with less works, your stress levels should decrease. And do what Sarsong said, go for walk or do breathing exercises, they always work.
