A few tips to help get rid of acne and just keep your skin overall healthy the natural way. While these may work for you, remember that it's also very important to wash your face everyday with a cleansing facial wash (natural face wash is the best). When washing your face, use your hands instead of a towel. Rough towels can just irritate your skin more.

Apply a honey and oatmeal mask to your face once or twice a week - Honey has antibacterial properties so it is great for disinfecting and healing minor blemishes. It is also gentle on sensitive skin. Take 1/4 cup of any kind of plain oatmeal, 1/4 cup of water and 2 teaspoons of honey, blend them in a blender and put the finished product on your face for 20 minutes. I use this often, it works good. Also, mixing honey and a raw egg together works too.

Keep your hair off your face - If you have long hair or bangs, pull your hair off your face. Your hair contains oils as well, and will contribute to your breakouts. You'll also want to wash your hair everyday and after workouts.

Aloe Vera gel - this can help improve inflamed spots and heal acne scars.

Avoid wearing makeup - Leaving makeup on your skin only contributes to clogging your pores, causing more pimples and blackheads. If you feel you must wear makeup, try to make sure its water-based.

Wash your pillow case every other day - Your face lays on your pillow case every day. Your pillow case absorbs the oils from your skin and reapplies the dirt and oil. Thus causing breakouts. Keep your sheets and pillow cases clean.

Baking soda method - Mix equal parts baking soda and water to form a paste. Apply the paste onto acne individually, not over the entire face. Dip a Q-Tip into the baking soda mixture and apply that way. Leave it on for 10 minutes then wash it off with cold water. Make sure to moisturize after doing this.

Use toothpaste for pimples - Toothpaste contains silica, which is the substance you find in beef jerky bags, used to keep any moisture out of substances. Silica will dry out and diminish the size of the pimple overnight if left on. Try using a natural toothpaste for this.

Cut back on eating refined carbohydrates (bread, pasta, etc) - Also, cut back on eating sugar (any sugar, a little natural sugars might be okay). Instead, eat more veggies and fruits, and drink LOTS of water. :)

Lemon juice - Putting lemon juice on your face can really help to even out your skin tone and get ride of acne scars.

Don't touch your face - Your hands contain oils and dirt that will cause you to break out.

Well, these are just some methods that have helped me and people I know. If you have anything you think I should add, let me know, so I can try them. :)

Also, my tips.
Don't fucking touch your face!
And wash it a few times a day with a soap that isn't harsh. A soft soap.
And cut back on lactose and fatty foods.

Only tip I know is wash your face every once and a while, and avoid lotion with a lot of oil. When you are drying off after a shower, or washing your face don't rub your face with a towel just dab lightly.

Also, keep in mind that acne *is* an actual medical condition that is treatable by doctors. There are tretinoins, antibiotics, etc that can be prescribed for the treatment of severe acne.

I'd never even heard of that. Thanks for sharing. (:

That's very true. These are just the natural methods that I've known to work for people I know who can't afford to go to a dermatologist and/or don't like using medications.

I read somewhere that sleeping with a fresh towel on your pillow each night can help too.

Drinking water helps a ton, plus take a fish oil supplement. Not only is it good for your heart (and my chronic dry eye) but fish oil is a natural anti-inflammatory, it'll help the redness and swelling, clever trick my pediatrician told me and it does help a little bit.

Yes, I suppose that's like the equivalent of changing your pillow case often. Also a good tip though!

Yeah, the part about drinking water is so true. I've also heard about the fish oil supplements and I took fish oil for a while but that stuff is nasty as fuck.

Also aloe vera gel. It's especially good for inflamed spots and acne scars.
Another thing: washing your face with olive oil actually reduces the oiliness of your skin.

These are both good. I added the aloe Vera gel one. Thanks. :)
