The United States tortures people and holds minors for war crimes
Its a new thing for your country only the last few yrs er so
As a country you used to have very high respect and a great record on human rights issues
Always the defender of the weak
Attacking countries like Iran, Syria, China, etc... for there appalling human rights record

So for you to go from the beacon for human rights to a country that doesn't have a problem with torture
is a bit of a big deal
Canada the closest ally of the United States has basically declared on record that the United States tortures and our diplomats have been trained to look for signs of it when visiting Canadian prisoners of any kind held by and/or on American soil
