Teens and Early Sex

I've seen so many posts on how some guys and girls have already had sex as early as 13 years old, and it just sickens me. I realize that it may jus be curiosity and hormones, but it just is so... odd to me :( How can people do such things at a young age and not feel like its weird? (I realize some people may be lying).

I've never had sex of any kind before and I don't want to until I'm in college AT LEAST! and trust me, I really would like to do stuff earlier. It just seems unreal for someone so young to do things so wrong for their age. :( What are some of your opinion on this topic?

i agree a little. casual safe sex between 13yr olds should only b masturbation to relieve tension with petting an cuddling. when u r more mature sex between partners should only b attempted if both of u love each other. sex is not vulgar.

i agree, i want to loose my virginity to the girl of my dreams :rolleyes: , i wouldn't mind masturbating with friends, but anal and oral... its a bit too far when you r only 13-15...

Everyone I know 5 people at my high school who are pregnant. They are above thirteen but that is besides the point. My birth mom had me at 19. My best advice is wait till you are physically and mentally ready. I personally would wait until age 17. Make sure your use condoms, and if you don't well I wish you the best of luck. Don't be a teen dad/mom.

having sexual intercourse depends not only on a person's age. its more like the close friends familiy culture or similar things which should be considered too. a girlfriend of mine is 18 and still virgin cause she is waiting for her mr. right.... others having with 13 sex....

I think it's their choice. If they think they are ready, know how to stay safe and is not going to regret it, who am I to object? It's none of my business, really. I don't know how long I'm going to wait but whatever age i do lose my virginity I don't want anybody judging me for it. So I don't judge others.

I'm not judging anyone, I'm only saying that I think that it is odd. I AM sharing my thoughts and questions! Why do you think I started this thread? To share my opinion and ask a question. This place doesn't sicken me, I LOVE the forums. It's just that the idea of very early sex just doesn't seem right. :(

In regard to the topic of this thread: Really, it depends on the situation. I mean sure it does seem weird for 13 year olds to be having sex, but if they're mature and safe about it (which is a big if, for anyone, really) than eh, it's not too big a deal in my opinion. I understand why you see it as strange though.

In regard to the attitudes in this thread: Chill. If you don't like this thread or the topic of it, then post constructively instead of insulting people.

I don't think it's always a good thing and there are definitely times it's not good or healthy, but it's not necessarily bad either. Personally I was 14 and have to say it was enjoyable, there was no pressure and we kind of worked our ways towards it. Both of us were prepared so it went well, and didn't cause any problems afterwards. I guess it's not always like that and is less likely to be the younger you are, but from personal experience I definitely think it can be an acceptable thing.

It's just an expression, it has nothing to do with religion. It means to act like one is morally superior.

If that was your intention, then you went about it in a terrible way. In a short post, you basically manage to say that anyone who has sex at a young age is sickening, weird and wrong. That's not a particularly good way of starting up a dialogue.

Perhaps if you'd stated your opinion in a less abrasive manner (or raised the question without expressing your opinion on it), you would have had a better response.

Regarding the topic at hand - everything is weird if it's not what you do. And sex, like many things, is only wrong if you're doing it for the wrong reasons. Age is mostly irrelevant. There are adults that make stupid mistakes regarding sex.

I guess it's early for some people but honestly it can depend a lot on maturity level. I know it's maybe a little strange but I've always been more mature than the average person of my age. When I was two I stayed with my mom at her friend's house and her friend said I was probably the only toddler you could leave at home for a long period of time and come back to see the house clean and dinner cooking. Obviously that was stretching it as the most I could cook was toast then but it was likely you would come home to see the house clean and me fully fed and completely fine.
I am a 13 year old that knows and understands the consequences of having sex, as well as how to do it safely, and I wouldn't just do it on a whim without talking about it with my partner and really considering it. But I think if I had a girlfriend that I was comfortable with, I would be ready to have sex, even though I am 13.

Believe me, I've heard of someone at school who got pregnant when she was 14! Some people do have sex at that age, most no. Now once they get in High School, sophomore or freshman, they've probably had sex, can't lie and say I didn't! -Many seniors who are really attractive and you wouldn't ever guess who are still virgins!!!

I'm 15 and haven't had sex, and am planning to hold onto my virginity until it feels right. It's a personal choice, and that's exactly what sex should be.

I do know a bunch of people my age who had sex for the first time when they were younger, and in my opinion, there's nothing wrong with them wanting to explore their desires as long as they keep it safe, and really want to.

People may be confusing sex with masturbation. Masturbation is fine and is already done be practically all of us since around 12 years old. Sex at that age I don't see as a good idea, only when you're fully sure you want to do it is it ok for you and your partner, and if you're 13 or less, I see that as not very likely.

It's definitely a question of maturity more than anything else- there are people in college who shouldn't be having sex, and people in high school that can handle it
