Just a suggestion (an innocent one), that users who get banned have an OP to post a sentence-long reason of why this user got banned, in the user's visitor messages.
Only got reminded of this idea when I saw somebody banned today that wasn't yesterday, and I couldn't easily see why. I know there's a definite and justified reason for bans, but some of us may not be able to see it easily. Might help if people see why these people get banned, and avoid it more, as they see the rule-breaking consequences being played out.

Only a suggestion, just an idea. I'm paranoid now :(

This will never ever happen for a couple of reasons.

1) Bans aren't revealed out of respect for the banned member. If a member is banned he or she doesn't want a bunch of teens gossiping over why he or she was banned. It's also for security reasons as the banned member might face abuse over the internet for those who've added him on various other social networking media.

2) Bans are actually revealed under some circumstances to the effected parties or the site as a whole if it is deemed necessary by the Staff. You can also PM an admin and state your case of why you should know but again it's unlikely it will be given.

So mass ban information being shared isn't likely to happen.

You don't need to know why others got banned.

There are so many reasons why an account is banned - request, overage, duplicate account, too many rule breakages, etc. But the reasons for each individual account are kept private for the sake of that person - if they wish to tell you, they may do so. However, staff will never tell you why someone was banned, and we're not going to be like 'oh we're gonna ban you but post a visitor message to tell people first.' It just doesn't work like that.

Unless you're a duplicate account or here to cam and such, you'll get numerous warnings before it leads to a ban, so no reason to be paranoid.

Reasons accepted. I didn't think about 1). Thanks to those who replied!
